This July was one of the hottest I've ever experienced making the bite a bit tougher than usual, especially in the afternoons. August on the other hand has arrived much milder than normal and the bass activity seems to be gradually picking up. I've been beginning my days targeting deep fish on a drop shot then gradually moving shallower with Texas rigged worms, jigs, and finish the day casting directly to the bank with Senkos. I must admit it sounds goofy but the fish dicate the approach, we just have to follow their lead. If this cooler weather we're currently experiencing becomes the "norm" for 2010 we should be able to expect some spectacular fall fishing........then again the mercury might reach 101 by next weekend!
